Place de Bleu

Place de Bleu has been creating handcrafted textiles in Copenhagen since 2010, combining strong colour and graphic forms with a thoughtful approach to materials and making.

The studio works with surplus textiles from Kvadrat, giving high quality fabrics a new purpose through small scale production. Each piece is sewn by hand, allowing the qualities of the materials and subtle variations in the making to remain part of the finished work.

Across the collection, colour, pattern, and texture are used to create cushions and objects that bring warmth and character into a room while remaining practical pieces for everyday use.

I am drawn to Place de Bleu for the balance between graphic expression and thoughtful making. Their pieces feel distinctive without being overly decorative, bringing colour and personality into the home while making considered use of existing materials.
