Place de Bleu - Handcrafted Textiles from Copenhagen

Since 2010, Place de Bleu has been creating textile pieces by hand in Copenhagen, with a strong focus on thoughtful materials, careful making and responsible production.

The collection is made using surplus textiles from Kvadrat, one of Denmark’s leading textile houses. By working with existing fabrics, Place de Bleu gives high-quality materials a new life while creating small, ever-changing collections of cushions and objects for the home.

Each piece is sewn by hand, with the subtle variations and character that come from small-scale production. The result is tactile, functional textiles designed to be used and enjoyed for years.

I am drawn to Place de Bleu for the way they combine strong colour and graphic pattern with a quieter approach to making. Their pieces bring warmth and personality into a room while still feeling considered, useful and distinctly Scandinavian.
