Lars Rank – Sculptural Ceramics, Rooted in Danish Design

There’s a quiet playfulness in Lars Rank’s work. Clean, architectural forms paired with hand-drawn decoration and thoughtful detail. Each piece is cast by hand in porcelain, shaped with care, and guided by a deep respect for material and process.

Rooted in Scandinavian design traditions, Lars’ approach balances precision with openness. For him, the process isn’t about controlling the clay, but creating a space where the idea and the material can meet and shape each other.

After graduating from the Jutland Art Academy in 2001, Lars has continued to explore the possibilities of ceramics—through both art and functional design. Since 2004, he’s been working from his studio in Copenhagen, creating high-quality porcelain pieces for the home: expressive, lasting, and made to be lived with.
