Danish design objects created by some of Denmark’s best known architects and designers.

ARCHITECTMADE brings original Danish designs back into production, including objects first created decades ago by architects and designers such as Kristian Vedel, Finn Juhl, and Poul Kjærholm.

The collection spans wooden figures, candle holders, and sculptural objects for the home, each defined by careful proportions, material, and construction. Kristian Vedel’s expressive wooden Birds are among the best known examples: simple forms whose character changes with the position of the head and body.

Rather than following changing trends, ARCHITECTMADE focuses on designs that have remained relevant because of the ideas behind them and the way they are made.

I am drawn to these pieces for many of the same reasons I value Danish design more broadly. They are simple without being anonymous, functional without being purely practical, and distinctive enough to hold their own in a room.
