Majken Mann

Majken Mann is a Danish designer with a background in both furniture and textile design. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, her work is strongly influenced by architecture and the lines, structures, and proportions of the built environment.

Her textile designs use simple geometry and repeated forms to create pattern and structure. Colour, scale, and proportion are carefully balanced, reflecting her understanding of both textiles and the spaces and furnishings they become part of.

Across her designs, graphic patterns bring structure and visual interest without unnecessary decoration. The result is textiles that are distinctive in their expression while remaining practical pieces for everyday use.

I was drawn to Majken’s work for its clarity and strong graphic character. Her designs reflect qualities I have always valued in Danish design: good proportions, useful materials, and an understanding that function and visual expression can belong together.
