Lars Rank - Sculptural Porcelain from Copenhagen

Lars Rank creates porcelain pieces that balance clean, architectural forms with a subtle sense of play. Each piece is made by hand, with careful attention to proportion, surface and the character of the material itself.

Trained at the Jutland Art Academy, Lars has worked from his Copenhagen studio since 2004, creating ceramics that move easily between functional object and small sculpture. His work is precise without feeling rigid, and often includes hand-drawn details that give each piece its own quiet personality.

I am drawn to the way Lars combines simplicity with expression. His pieces feel distinctly Scandinavian, yet never anonymous — thoughtful objects made to be used, noticed and lived with over time.
