ANNIE COMEAU
Quiet, thoughtfully made linens from Québec
Meet the Maker: Annie Comeau of Casannita
In her studio just northwest of Montréal, textile artist Annie Comeau creates thoughtfully made linens for everyday life. Each piece is sewn with care from high-quality linen and cotton, designed to be used often, washed often, and lived with for years.
Her line, Casannita, grew from a respect for natural materials and a belief that useful objects can also be beautiful and responsibly made. The textiles are simple, durable and tactile — the kind of pieces that settle naturally into daily routines around the kitchen and table.
Annie’s work shares many of the qualities I look for in Scandinavian design: simplicity, honest function, natural materials and longevity. Her linens sit beautifully alongside the handmade ceramics in the collection, adding softness, texture and warmth to the everyday table.
